Giordano Ferranti was born in Rome in 1992. He graduated cum laude and honors in orchestra conducting at the Alfredo Casella Conservatory in L’Aquila with Marcello Bufalini. He began his studies very early with Simone Genuini, and made his first public appearance as a conductor in Salzburg Cathedral, aged 19.

He recently made debuts with some important italian orchestras, namely La Toscanini (Parma), laVerdi (Milano), the Orchestra Nazionale della Rai (Torino) and the Orchestra Sinfonica di Sanremo. He worked for many years with the Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese,  which he conducted in numerous concerts, at the IUC season of La Sapienza University in Roma, the Reate Festival at Teatro Vespasiano of Rieti, the festival Rossini in Pesaro and the Estate Musicale Frentana in Lanciano.

In july 2021 he started a collaboration as a conductor with the Orchestra Giovanile di Roma.

Since 2018 he is the Principal Conductor of the OrchExtra project within the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, being appointed Assistant Conductor of the youth orchestras of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in 2019.

Giordano is highly devoted to education, showing great interest for teaching. He is currently professor of solfège, music theory, harmony and analysis at the Avos project in Rome. For this institution he held a cycle of seminars on the formal analysis of the classical repertoire, in cooperation with Dr. Gabriele Cecchetti from the Digital and Musicology lab of the Losanna university (EPDD-EPFL).

In 2016 he was admitted as effective student at the Accademia Chigiana di Siena, studying with M° Daniele Gatti and conducting the Orchestra Giovanile Italiana in the final concert of the masterclass. He attended masterclasses with Donato Renzetti and the Orchestra dei Pomeriggi Musicali di Milano, Marco Zuccarini and Lior Shambadal, working with the Berliner Symphoniker Kammerorchester.

In 2015 he won the competition “London January Masterclass” in London. In november 2013 he conducted Filarmonica Prenestina Orchestra and Chorus in a memorable concert in San Pietro in Vincoli in Rome.

In 2012 he co-founded in Rome the Prometheus Chamber Orchestra, a highly talented youth orchestra. He conducted this ensemble at the Greek Theatre in Ischia, at the Auditorium del Parco in L’Aquila, at the Teatro Quirino, Teatro Eliseo and Oratorio del Caravita in Rome.
